Question for the #GearSquad
I’ve updated the Symphony drivers so that I can potentially move forward with upgrading macOS, knowing that my hardware will be compatible. A quick check shows a good number of my plugins may not be supported in Golden Gate.
Should I just update anyways? My gut instinct is saying go for it and just stop using anything that doesn’t come along. Apparently this update also removes Rosetta, so it would reveal who’s being naughty and who’s playing nice.
We are recording a pre-demo in our home studio.
When recording bass, would you use a compressor for more consistent sound? Most of my bass bass tracks are clean bass, no effects, playing with fingers.

#Apple has now announced that they’ll be releasing #logicpro 13 at some as yet undecided future date. It requires at a minimum macOS 26 (Tahoe), but for the advanced AI features now being added it requires macOS 27 (Golden Gate).
This is definitely the end of the line for me and Logic. I’m running on Sequoia and have absolutely no interest or intention of upgrading beyond that point. It’s not broken so why upgrade? The search for a new DAW starts today.

I was just thinking that faking a photo shoot of a skateboard trick - take a picture of the approach, another of the takeoff, another of the grab, and a final one of the landing, rather than speed-shoot the whole thing straight through - is what comping tracks is.

↳ In reply to a post Also, this gig marks the retirement of my trusty Mesa Recto 2x12, after *20yrs* on the stage and in the van. The new backline is smaller and more flexible, better suited to the variety of situations we find ourselves in.
It's an open-back Bogner 112O cab with a vintage 30, will add a 2nd one for bigger gigs. No mic either—coming out the XLR analog cab-modeled output of the Seymour Duncan PowerStage. Sounds great, less setup, more consistent gig to gig, more helpful in the in-ears.
