Scattershot sync. On the drive down to Los Angeles–allowed myself the luxury of taking 101!–I did stop at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard: Edie Sedgwick’s final resting place. Stopped there decades ago when I was more wrapped up in Warholia and while the cemetery was not at all how I remembered it I still gravitated toward her (& her mother’s) grave. Photographed a few other sites w/personality & stayed clear from an active burial out of respect.

Definitely in austerity mode these days so I took food down to Los Angeles with me but I sort’ve splurged at Langer’s & paid a couple of visits to the awe-inspiring, open 24 hours, Tacos LA 26! at S Alameda & E 4th.
I give you the #19.
& though I’ve eaten a lot of al pastor in Mexico I’ve never seen such a large trompo. Or encountered complementary whole potatoes (reviews say roasted but I’d guess boiled). Terrific scene there, all tacos $2.50 including lengua & cabeza.
Only realized this morning that the view from my room-with-a includes a sliver of City Hall & the back side of Geffen Contemporary. Yesterday featured appointments at Langer’s, Marciano Foundation, and Tacos la 26! I deny all rumors suggesting that the third photo is actual documentation of myself after consuming what’s in the second though I appreciate Kate’s suggestion that it is so.
Always ask for a room with a view and if you forget to specify that the view should be Windexed before you check in ask for wall art that's odd enough to make you consider swiping it.
So far, rather fond of this SRO-ish Airbnb.
A film, and some straight film talk, w/A.S. Hamrah & Jonathan Kiefer last night at Shapeshifters Cinema, Oakland. Hamrah's on a West Coast book tour for Last Week in End Times Cinema–see him @ Et al. tonight or Los Angeles in days to follow–screening films as he goes; tonight's was Zach Clark's The Becomers, which I enjoyed far beyond my expectations.
