Every year, I manage to miss the blooming heather here in Eindhoven. This time, we did go on time in August and it was quite amazing to see. The light was not the best, and neither was my effort, but I thought it'd be nice to share the photos anyways! https://hacdias.com/2026/10/25/heather/

The light conditions were not the best, and I did not put a lot of effort into it, so the photos are not fantastic. But I thought it’d be nice to share anyways!

A small write-up on something we built a few years ago and still use! https://hacdias.com/2026/10/24/vinyl-shelf/

Henrique DiasOur Records Know When They're Played - Henrique DiasTwo years ago, we built a little something that we still use quite often: a “Playing Now” shelf for the vinyl sleeve of the currently playing vinyl. But that’s not all: this shelf is NFC-enabled and records all vinyls that we play.

Giving a shout out to a small developer out there. Thanks for making useful apps! https://hacdias.com/2026/10/23/liftin/

Henrique DiasLiftin': My Go-To Strength Training App - Henrique DiasWe all use apps and services from large corporations and I’d bet that most of us also pay for some of those. What we more often forget are the small apps and services maintained by one or just a couple of people.

Trying out a different type of post. It's been a while since I've written something more towards the technical. https://hacdias.com/2026/10/20/summer-failure/

Henrique DiasThe Test That Only Failed in the Summer - Henrique DiasIn the summer, while I was working on a feature locally, I noticed a test started failing. I initially dismissed it: I assumed there was some flakiness, and CI was green, so everything must’ve been good, right? Until it kept failing, only locally. A test that a few days before was working as normal.
