Run a Geo Consulting Shop - North River Geographic Systems, Inc. Work with QGIS and PostGIS and pile of FOSS4G Software. Editing in OSM makes me happy. Enjoy Linux. Enjoy getting lost. Great at people watching. Terrible at programming. Generally pretty decent at fixing stuff as evidenced by my old jeep. I'd rather be canoeing truth be told.

Learned today that if I use the postgresql version that comes with ubuntu and just do a release upgrade I do not have to uninstall/reinstall software. How any years have I cussed this ubuntu upgrade experience.
Back in 2011 I bought a dell T3500. In 2013 I put 24GB of RAM in it. It turned into a firewall about 10 years ago. Today - DIMM 4 went out. Either the memory stick or the hardware. I'm dumbfounded the workstation still runs. I guess it probably needs to be retired after 15 years of faithful service.
This is one of those days where I need to get up and go for a walk and give up on being productive.
