“People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they're afraid it might be true. Peoples' heads are full of knowledge, facts and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.”

There are some days I want to just sit down, and go "Claude? Rewrite Usenet. We miss it."
Reddit was so close, but it's just deteriorating more and more.
And yes, I know, social media places are only as good as the people who are on it and who use it. Just having the tech and the system up doesn't mean it'll get used.
But man i miss trn/rn/nn.
Yano. You can rail against AI as much as you like, and from an industry standpoint, there's some serious WTF stuff going on.
But it's a helluva tool. I've had an ongoing problem with with my X1 Carbon laptop not going into full 'sleep' when I close the lid, so it would drain the battery and get hot when in my backpack.
Claude figured out the problem. Needed nvme.noacpi=1 on the kernel boot. That's it.
