Diversity is a must. In the past year we made a few decisions that we had to roll back again, which I could directly attribute to lack of diversity in our module.
Blender is for everybody, and I want everybody to feel welcome to be an active part in the community. And that also means being part of module meetings, where decisions are made. For example the decision to remove a feature nobody is using -- guess what, people _were_ using it, just nobody from our group. Diversity would have helped.
To the men around me, especially in the Blender community: watch this talk by Jo Franchetti. It's impressive.

I've certainly bit my cheek after saying "guys" to a group of mostly women and thought "I have to do better". But there's so much more to her story, I found it shocking. It definitely motivates me to keep my eyes open to what goes on around me even more.
The Astronomer, by Johannes Vermeer (1668). I just found out that my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather made that globe!
Celebrating that my Pixelfed instance is back online by posting some new photos from @[email protected]
Time to donate plasma again!
