I have a degree in New Media, and an obsession with disenshittification and web technology. Basically always talking about systems and HCI.
When it seems to you like I must have been living under a rock, it probably seems to me like you have been living under the wrong rock, just because it's bigger.
With this account I indulge in pontification about the ways the world could be better. I rarely complain without coming up with a solution, too. If you catch me doing so, call me out!
I wouldn't expect such a #distro to be a primary machine for anyone (except my kids) at first, but I think a lot of people might have one, to experience the reality of what true #digitalSovereignty looks like.
My dad won't share a volume we are collaborating on over #syncthing because it is "one more thing" and I get it.
I see it as #BigTech burnout. Attention monopolized and mined dry by the necessities too many of us are locked into.
Makes me think, if "one more thing" could be the only one thing someone needed to get #digitalSovereignty, what could that look like?
I have my ideas, but I'll leave it as an exercise for your magnificent imagination.
Is there a #Linux #distro with preconfigured blocking of #BigTech #BigStalking and (maybe wishful) not just preinstalled alternatives, but assisted rerouting to such alternatives?
