I was asked to compare my mtt.sh tool to Dissect's target-mount utility. I had honestly never heard of Dissect before I received this request, but I figured I'd give it a go.

Looking at the documentation, it's apparent that target-mount only supports single-disk images. That's strike one.

Dissect is a Python based framework and we need to "pip install" with the usual dependency dance. Strike two. mtt.sh is a self-contained shell script (plus three optional OS package dependencies).

So I set up a venv and did the "pip install dissect".Before too long the Dissect stuff was installed. And it failed-- strike three.

I see no point in researching this further.

Error message when trying to use Dissect's target-mount: "fusepy is not installed: pip install fusepy"
Error when doing "pip install fusepy": "Requirement already satisfied"

Suddenly my HOA is enforcing the “no (political) signs” rule from our covenants. It’s never been an issue in any prior election, including a local school board election that ran over the summer. I’m very curious about the whys and wherefores of this timing.

Perhaps because of generalized Weltschmerz I've had protest songs looping through my head. Lately it's been songs of quiet protest like Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" and Pete Seeger's "How Can I Keep From Singing?" (Enya's version is also lovely).

If you were building a #ProtestSongs playlist, what would be on it?

Teaching a skill you know well to somebody who’s never done it before is mind blowing. You realize just how much stuff your brain just handles for you on autopilot. Breaking the learning down into digestible chunks will also help you learn the subject better. And your students’ questions constantly force you to revisit your assumptions.
