Made it to Cookeville, TN for the night. Quick pool visit then I need to do some mapping for the next few days.

I love how the industry comes up with new names for old stuff.
I have lived in “Forward Deployed Engineering role” for 15 years before moving to InfoSec.
No one could figure out what to call us. We had many titles but the function was exactly the same, go onsite, give client technical expertise and best practices for digital transformation, maintain and deploy changes, customizations, and a ton of DB work.
If you are one of these people, you are just a technical consultant working with clients, it’s not a glamorous job, AI can’t change that.
Day 10 - the long road home.
Today is day one of the return to Seattle. Manassas, VA to Knoxville, TN
No adventures today but the road.
Glad we decided to stay an extra day. I needed a day to recover before heading back.
We have had some discussions and decided we are going I-81 to I-40 to New Mexico. Then cut up through southern Utah and spend a couple days around Canyonlands/Brice to scout out some rides for next spring.
We will figure out getting home to Seattle from there.
Planning to be home in 7-10 days depending on fun and weather. Heading home can be slower for us and looking forward to it.
My little brother isn’t so little anymore. We both look pretty good. I got the smarts he got the looks.
We have been sailors, husbands, sons, but we need to be brothers. When you look around and he is the only one there, it’s time to get a clue and be a big brother.
We have been lucky to make it this far but I need him.
