An image circulating on Bluesky shows a Maine “Stop Fraud: Vote Republican” sign. Next to it, a handmade blue sign with a big white arrow pointing to it reads: “HILARIOUS.” 😂

What he didn’t say is that he cannot unilaterally send those checks, and he didn’t answer the obvious question: If we are making all this money and creating all this wealth, why is the deficit increasing? Just back in May, the national debt surpassed the size of the entire U.S. economy for the first time since World War II, reaching $31.27 trillion. The stock market, which Trump loves to cite as proof that everything is going exceptionally well, just had its worst week since June, driven by a sell-off in tech stocks that sent the S&P 500 tumbling. Even among Republicans, less than half believe he will actually follow through on sending the $5,000 checks. The promise was never meant to be kept in the first place. It was a bribe for votes, a promise we can add to the stack of other promises he never keeps.

www.heatherdelaneyreese.comDonald Trump is more dangerous than ever beforeAt 7:57 tonight, Donald Trump grabbed the handrails and hoisted himself onto the stage through the slit in the dark navy blue curtains before slowly making his way to the podium. Appearing less enthusiastic than at past rallies, his irritable nature made more sense when he stopped to tell the audience how he really feels about campaigning for his fellow Republicans at these rallies: “I thought thi

I read this headline: What is Donald Trump planning? And my first thought was: 'Die'.
(before he & his regime destroys this country & the world.)

Today, we were confronted with multiple serious warnings, including one that came directly from Senator Chris Murphy, who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and attended a classified briefing on the Iran war. In a statement posted today on X, Murphy warned, “Trump is reportedly planning to restart war with Iran after the election. Some of us have been briefed on the war plan. And while I cannot disclose any details, I can say this: the plan is insane. It will not achieve objectives and will set off a new cycle of escalation.” His warning followed remarks he made yesterday at the Middle East Institute, where he went further, warning that the plan “will lead to devastating escalation and the likely destruction of our commitment to the rule of law.”

With the cameras broadcasting live, Donald Trump lost control of himself and attacked a reporter in one of the most revealing fits of rage of his presidency to date. “Never before in American history has the federal government, on the eve of an election, sought to coerce a state and local government to abandon their own Constitutional elections procedures and bend to the will of the Executive Branch,” Carter wrote. “This case is about the right of every American citizen to vote in a free and fair election.”

Why billionaire wealth is so bad for democracy.

This is the story of American democracy in this second Gilded Age. Billionaires are building their wealth with bribes campaign donations (as well as with their ownership of media and with their armies of lawyers marching to the Supreme Court to contest judicial rulings that harm their bottom lines). And so much more... read on:

The Republicans ads on YouTube have gotten disgusting. So I'm not the only one to have noticed. They're just attack ads, no mention of affordability, healthcare or the gas prices... they must think Americans are stupid. #VoteBlue

We are not just voting for ourselves and the future survival of our country in eleven days. We are also voting for every person on this planet who has been caught in the crossfire of Donald Trump’s reckless decisions. I still believe in our country and the people in it to do the right thing. Donald Trump and his enablers have put us through hell, forcing us to live in a constant state of chaos and uncertainty, but that is going to change very soon.

www.heatherdelaneyreese.comDonald Trump can’t hide all the corruption foreverAt 6:07 tonight, the president of the United States and the governor of Florida made a beeline straight to the press that were waiting beside Qatari Air Force One on the tarmac in Fort Myers, Florida. As they got closer, Donald Trump fumbled with a coin in his hands just as DeSantis grabbed it and thrust it directly in front of the reporters and their cameras. With Donald Trump standing behind him

In this dark period for our country, we can find comfort in remembering something that history has shown us. The last time this kind of McCarthyism tried to take hold, it did not end well for the people behind it. It did not end well for Joseph McCarthy, whose name became synonymous with shame and ruin all these decades later. It also did not end well for Adolf Hitler, whose reign of terror ended in a bunker that is now under a nondescript parking lot in Berlin, Germany. This will not end well for Donald Trump either, with hearings, investigations, and maybe even impeachment and removal. Nor will this end well for any of the enablers standing behind him. It never does. Because movements built on fear and cruelty always collapse under their own weight. The only question is how much damage they do before they fall, and that part is up to us. In just two weeks, or sooner if you have early voting, we will finally get to make our voices heard at the ballot box.

While seated behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, surrounded by almost a dozen of his most obedient yes-men, he lost all control. We are being gaslit. To paraphrase Garry Kasparov, I believe in coincidences, but I also believe that fascists lie to the public and collude with oligarchs. Skepticism is warranted, particularly given the long history of lies and blame-shifting we’ve endured under Trump’s brand of authoritarianism.
