Study today purporting to be able to tell how long a cancer patient will be able to survive based on AI looking at their face. Well turns out it’s just a “what’s your biological age” algorithm of AI grade opacity… Hate to say it, but probably done largely on white folks, who as we can admit by now do not exhibit age on our* faces the same way black and Asian folks do (*I’m hapa so I get to be on both sides of this). When my Chinese mom died of cancer every white person was surprised to learn she was as old as she was. Didn’t help her cancer! Asian don’t raisin only means so much. I am told (by white folks) I look 15 years younger than I am, so if I get cancer I guess I’ll look like I’m a good candidate for treatment even if I’m at death’s door? Could be worse I guess!
