So…I had an X-File level thing happen to me today.

Way back in 1999, I designed a website for the author Alfredo Vea, Jr. He’s a Mexican/Yaqui American who wrote some cool books. And he’s a nice guy.

Other than coffee, lunch, and our engagement on that website, we’ve never had any professional connections. And I haven’t even thought about him in decades.

Until three days ago.

I was thinking about Native Americans I've known. He came to mind so I searched his name online. Read his Wikipedia entry, discovered he no longer has a website. That’s it.

Then today I get some (printed) junk mail. I usually toss them. But it was addressed to me AND Aflredo Vea.

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

It was a credit-card offer. Addressed to both of us. Even though he’s never lived in Oregon and we’ve never been on any document together ever.

Seriously. What are the chances?
