There’s some very cute animal art. I like the duo cards. Also wizard animals of all sorts.

One more Magic the Gathering set for this weekend—the Bloomburrow set which is sort of like Redwall, but with magical battles.
Success! Finally got some coveted lamb momos (with mango lassi).
And here are a fraction of the cards with cowboy hats. I think everyone wears them in this set, good, bad, neutral, whatever.
Onward—this is apparently another set I heard that people didn’t like, this time because there were too many cowboy hats. I think this is the second box I’ve opened recently featuring a shirtless dude? All I know is that the character is some kind of a chaos elf with broken cards.
It feels like it has quirky professor vibes. The thing I don’t like about it is that the aisles are too narrow. I was only carrying a basket, but I seemed to crash into someone every time I turned around, tried to pass someone, or went around a corner.
This is the first time I’ve been to the Berkeley Bowl even though people have been raving about it for almost the entire decade I’ve lived in the Bay Area.
There’s a sandcastle contest currently happening on Ocean Beach. The contestants are elementary school kids, so temper your expectations. But it seems like wholesome fun for the weekend.
A sign.
And this is the first time I’ve seen full art cards in person. Very cool.
I can see how some might not like this set, not just because of detectives (only a fraction shown here) but because this set really wants to be a mystery game. Die hard Magic players who want fantasy battles probably were not happy with the genre switch up. The land cards are amazing, though.
I have a couple minutes before doing some other stuff, so let’s see if I can open a couple packs from this set. I heard that people didn’t like this set because there were too many detectives.
Dinosaurs!
I have some time tonight so I’ll check out some dinosaur cards! (Well, I hope there are a lot of dinosaur cards.)
And some cool art. I always like the saga cards (bottom row) as the art styles are usually a bit more experimental/atypical compared to the cards with a more traditional layout.
Saw some cute stamps. Unlikely I'll see any of these in person as I rarely get mail from these countries.
