New OLED MacBook Pros seem to be same design from what I can tell but with a mini Dynamic Island instead of a notch at the top. Wonder how much that is down to them needing it for thermals maybe as they cancelled the M6 Pro and Max chips.

Gurmans price hike sadly is true though, starting at £2,899 is one hell of a starting point. Same specced machine I was tempted to get when M5 pro & max chips were announced at start of March is whopping £1000 more 🤯

I suppose when the loyalist Apple TV crowd auto bought the Apple TV after its second price hike this probably gave Apple marketing team the ammunition to confirm they can simply charge whatever they want & the pre-orders will still fulfil their at launch inventory

NEW: Apple bets customers will pay a big premium for touch-screen, OLED laptops. The company has discussed charging $400 more, pricing the 14-inch touch MacBook Pro from $2,899. That could make the 16-inch model at least $3,399. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-10-27/

Having just mentioned the price bump not being bad, looking into the tech news it seems it’s the 2nd price hike of the year… oh dear. Still overall a positive from me but maybe not as much as I initially thought.

Looking at macrumours forum, a post shows a breakdown of the price increases since its first launch and it’s pretty staggering. $329 in 2012 to $699

A table listing the different models of the iPad mini along with their release years and launch prices in USD, EUR, and GBP. Table reads as follows:

* First-generation iPad mini, released in 2012: $329 US dollars, €329, £249.
* Second-generation iPad mini, released in 2013: $399 US dollars, €389, £319.
* Third-generation iPad mini, released in 2014: $399 US dollars, €389, £319.
* Fourth-generation iPad mini, released in 2015: $399 US dollars, €389, £319.
* Fifth-generation iPad mini, released i

To extend from this, comparing this little iPad mini to the iPhones

- it’s only 1g heavier than the Duo (254g for the duo vs 255g for “WiFi only” iPad mini in U.K.)
- it’s thinner than the iPhone Air (5.64mm for the air vs 5.4mm for “WiFi only” iPad mini in U.K.)

Not quite as thin as the iPad Pro which is 5.3mm but considerably lower cost and it’s not like the M chips in the pros are being used to their max capabilities with how restricted ios/ipados is

iPad mini update is pretty damn decent. I wasn’t too clued up on rumours other than it was likely going to be an OLED screen, which is confirmed to be true but to have an A20 Pro chip inside it is pretty class. Makes the Apple TV just shocking as an update. I think it’s a £100 p
