3) I got into a verbal fight which felt awfully lot like a man explaining me things I know better, and did not stand down. Well, to a degree that third parties heard about how watching us duel was interesting.

We yield rather than defend our positions. We choose often the fight to die before it starts. The fact that it happening reach people who weren’t there to watch it says it’s unusual.

I’m sure the spectators saw it in various light, but hearing back through the positive loop of how nice it was to see how I date changes to explain differences of what we experience was at least educational.

Researcher finds it, kernel devs write an upstream fix, distros pick it up.

PwnEscape (CVE-2026-99999) is a KVM guest-to-host escape, and the open source loop is already running on it.

And here's a handful of little baby blue-tongue skinks! I can tell they're less than a week old because they aren't trying to kill each other. Newborn blue-tongues sometimes stick around their siblings for a short while, but part ways early and live an entirely solitary life afterwards.

You can see the little outie bellybutton on the one in the front! Blue-tongue skinks have an almost mammal-like reproductive system with placenta and umbilical cord and everything. After their first shed the bellybutton almost entirely heals over; it is almost invisible in adults. (I can't find Igor's.)

A fun fact about baby blue-tongues specifically is that they are exactly as intelligent as the adults. If faced with an entirely novel problem, there is zero difference in either puzzle solving or learning ability between a 1-week-old baby and a 15-year-old adult. This is extreme, even by reptile standards. Adults do have the advantage of experience and memories, so if faced with a not-entirely-novel problem, they will outperform babies because they can draw on things they've learned in the past.

(Igor has solved a cat puzzle feeder, and I've taught him to wipe his mouth in a kitchen towel. Blueys are generally considered among the smarter reptiles; they can also be clicker and target trained.)

If corporate media detailed the history of the US "drug war," it would soundly obliterate the official narrative and expose it for what it is: a façade for imperial domination that really has nothing to do with stopping the flow of drugs at all.

FAIRDon’t Pretend the ‘War on Drugs’ Has Anything to Do With Fighting DrugsMedia exposes reinforce the narrative that the US is in fact fighting against drug cartels—and not using the “drug war” apparatus as a politico-economic weapon.

This is in the context of a "backyard" ultra, where you run 100/24 miles every hour, on the hour, until you can't complete a lap. So not only is that 500 miles, but it's 5 days, where the only time to sleep is the gap between how fast you can finish a lap and the next hour starting.

(A particularly savage point about this format is there can only be one winner -- everyone else is a DNF -- so for every amazing feat, there's someone else who did it too, less one lap)

Friendly reminder that UK and Europe end daylight savings this weekend (Oct 25), and the US/Canada end it the following weekend (Nov 1).

So, you know, have fun scheduling meetings for the next few weeks!
