NASA astronaut Anil Menon and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Joshua Kutryk are currently installing and deploying the Roll-Out Solar Array (IROSA) on the 2A electrical power channel of the International Space Station.

The solar array will be the 7th IROSA and will provide additional power to support critical station operations, including its safe and controlled deorbit.

See graphic below for the locations of the various iROSA arrays on the ISS. Truss 2A is being worked on today.

Each iROSA array produces more than 20 kW of electricity; the 8 arrays will eventually generate 160 kW of augmented power during orbital daytime. In addition, the partially uncovered original arrays will continue to generate ~65 kW of power.

iROSA on 3B will be deployed on Nov 5.
