I think it's a stupid thing Dell did but i guess it's stumped a lot of people, and it's probably sold a lot of fans for them

I didn't just short the connections together because i don't know if that might cause a short. 4.7k should limit any current to a safe level
It's 2.6 mA max at 12 volts (voltage equals current times resistance) but i think they're lower voltage than that, maybe 5v? It seemed weird when i measured it
