So I run a site in the 1st server I ever put on my home lab. It’s Ubuntu LTS. Due to some custom configs I did not feel like sorting out, I was still on 22.x. That has PHP 8.1.x. So I updated the server, dealt with the config headache, and got everything “up to date” on 24.x LTS. The PHP version after obligatory apt update && apt upgrade -y?

Here’s a good laugh. When I run ‘PHP -v’ on my newly upgraded Ubuntu server, the one with PHP 8.3.6 installed, it tells me the build date is “Oct 19 2026 15:16:58”. How’s that for a swing and a miss?
