I’ve been working on Ko Notes, a small native notes app for Mac, inspired by what I liked about nvALT.

I wanted somewhere to put a passing thought: press a hotkey, write it down, get back to what I was doing. The same input searches existing notes, and everything is stored as plain Markdown files in a folder you choose.

There’s optional AI to help develop a thought inside the note, too.

I’m using it myself and working through the rough edges. Curious how this fits with the way you take notes.
