Video was shown of police going into a building where students were just hanging out in a lounge and studying. They singled out young men to search. They marched a couple away in a van. Apparently because one of them had a bike helmet in his bag. Which the cops now see as proof they're planning on being violent towards cops? The cops were really torqueing his arms behind him as they marched him away, too.

Violent Albania protests deepen political crisis for PM Edi Rama | DW News

DW's reporter should have called out Rama's installation of chairs for dialogue as the stunt it was. Protest was peaceful - even in the face of cop tear gas and water cannons - for 135 days and Rama did not put out chairs for any of those days.

Also the BS about "foreign actors" - for at least 135 days a very diverse group of Albanians (age, sex, politics, occupation) were protesting peacefully about Albanian issues.

When international press doesn't call out these stunts, they're just being used by an oligarch to amplify his propaganda.

The Albanian they interview corrects it, but DW should never have uncritically repeated the PM's BS in the first place.
