Something sounds weird to me with the #Airbnb "check out chores" story.
I don't know about other guests, but I stayed in Airbnbs several times, and I never left them too messy. When they had a kitchen, I washed the dishes. It just felt like a decent and sensible thing to do. The hosts didn't require or even ask me to do it.
I suspect that the current affair may be a PR stunt to make the public more sympathetic to the hosts and through them, to the company.
I might be wrong, of course.
