django-tui 26.2 needs no setup 🎉
cd into any Django project and run:
uvx django-tui
No pip install, no INSTALLED_APPS. It finds your manage.py (even from a subdirectory), loads your .env files and uses the project’s own virtualenv, so your Django version and apps are the ones running.
Then browse and run your management commands, or query your models in the shell.
Static files, media files, storage backends, S3, CDNs, how do they fit together in Django?
From the archives, Josh Schneier explains Django’s file and storage systems from development through production.

Second week of @djangonaut picked up the speed after the first one. I got my first contributions merged in and as a team, we made great progress towards bringing the project and its development environment to modern day.

My new article about a trap in dispatch method in Django.

You gonna be kidding me:) Which part of it is modern? 😆
potatoq has a dashboard now 🥔
The first question after launch was "where's the Flower equivalent?", so here it is:
• Live workers and the tasks they're running
• Queue sizes and periodic tasks
• Dead letters with the traceback, and a Retry button
It reads the broker directly: no events to turn on, nothing lost on restart. No extra dependencies either: `potatoq dashboard`, or mount it in Django, FastAPI or Flask.
potatoqDashboard - potatoqA Celery-compatible Python task queue with production-ready defaults and backend-native Redis, RabbitMQ, Postgres and SQLite brokers.

I’ve been frustrated with Celery, so I ran an experiment: could today’s LLMs build a better Python task queue?
My wish list:
• Defaults that don’t lose your jobs
• Free-threaded Python
• Django tasks
• Native broker features (SKIP LOCKED, quorum queues…)
• Celery-compatible
A couple of weeks later, it runs all my projects in production. 🎉
I called it potatoq 🥔 It’s still in alpha, but feedback welcome!
And if you ever wondered if you can use #Django to build a DNS server, yes you can 😆
Any FOSS or other non-profit project or community that sends email?
I am happy to help :)

Thanks 🙏 @realpython for featuring my #Python + #Django design patterns article, where I walk through the design decisions behind my Commit Graph habit-tracking app. 🚀
I really liked how you framed it as a “this worked in this case, and here's why I did it” kind of article.
Those are my favorite pieces to write. They help us move beyond “this library does X” toward “how should we think about software?”
