Somebody brought a stray kitten to my floor where it has obviously never walked on floors. It got scared and hid behind the washing machine in the laundry room for a while but then I convinced it to come lay in my lap to be comforted where she made biscuits on my leg and rubbed her face on mine and purred loudly. I was going to make her a little bed in the laundry room but she was gone by the time I had gotten a pillow case.

I'm allergic to cats, so I'm glad I had already taken my nightly benadryl.

I'm slowly turning Spot into a lap cat. It's been a process. She'd tolerate me picking her up for brief periods, but didn't love it. We then graduated to me holding her tight in my lap, then gently releasing my hold, and she'd hang out for a bit.

Tonight she finally checked out the benefit of a 99° heater I've been telling her about for years, and she was on my lap for ~0.5hr til it was time for me to get up. Pic is from last month, but it's representative.

Pic looking down my legs with a white dominant calico cat on my upper thigh. It's outside on a wooden bench. The bottom of a black shirt can be seen, with the main view being coffee stain desert camo pants, black socks, and old tan boat shoes. Beyond is grass.
