After a couple of nights in That London, it seems the #Halloween pricks are out in force. Somebody needs to tell them that 1) This is not America, knock that crap off and B) Even if it were, Halloween isn't till next weekend.

#covid (Moderna) and #flu shots in the arm today. Apparently increasing rates in the region. I've also seen more #maskwearing, which is good.
Not #halloween masks, that is. But equally scary.
I just heard a music podcast about #Halloween #songs include a beautiful but deeply disturbing song by Sufjan Stevens about John Wayne Gacy, the child molester and serial killer. My brain said Hell No. I realized I have a list of things that I am willing to consider "Halloween content" and other content that's a No for me. If you feel like sharing yours, or if a popular person wants to make a poll, I'd love that.
Right now I think these are my preferences
OK For Halloween:
- Death of grown-ups
- Already-dead people (including children) as ghosts, zombies, etc.
- Monsters (e.g., vampires, werewolves, mummies...)
- Murder of adults by monsters and vice-versa
- Creepy almost-murder of kids in child-audience horror stories
Not OK For Halloween:
- Child molestation
- Murder of children (although for some reason I'm OK with child ghosts and vampires)
- Torture
- Murder not involving any mystical or spiritual elements
OK For Other People I Guess:
- Non-mystical murder (e.g., slasher flicks, murder ballads)
- Mystical Halloween stuff from a very specific religious point of view (this one is just because my faith transition has given me a complicated relationship with some religious content)
So I have a week until I take my CCNA next Saturday on Halloween. My go to costume is Waldo from the books “Where’s Waldo”. Granted I can’t wear the hat when I take my picture but I can wear the striped shirt. I know the picture is in black and white but it gives me the giggles about dressing up is it’s on Halloween.🎃#halloween#ccna

What kind of a warped mind would write a book called “Horror Dogs”?!
Oh right. That’s me.
Modesto, CA, on Saturday, Oct. 24th, stop by The Raven’s Perch and let’s chat.

Just in time for #halloween — an IT #horror story. Nurses and other health workers default to WhatsApp for professional tasks, despite knowing it’s not secure, whatever policies are. Why? It’s easy, it’s where the people are, it works. But it risks patient data and non-compliance with privacy laws. Health professionals don’t need better policy — they need a better chat, #Matrix needs to become reachable, effortless, and invisibly secure. #MatrixConf follow along: https://conference.matrix.org/watch

Ghoul night, sleep tight! 🦇🌙
The Count has risen… well, he’s trying. Someone’s mistaken his coffin for a king-size cat bed. 🐈⬛⚰️
All that ancient power, defeated by one fat cat and a yawn. Sweet screams! 🧛♂️💤
I never anticipated how hard it may be to procure in time a chunky zipper for a child's #Halloween costume if you are #sewing it just before the event.
