2026.pgconf.euPostgreSQL Observability Summit - Community Event at PGConf.EU 2026PostgreSQL now runs everywhere, on-prem, cloud-managed, on Kubernetes. Each deployment model comes with its own monitoring stack, its own blind spots, and its own trade-offs. This half-day summit brings together tool maintainers, cloud engineers, Kubernetes operators, and DBAs to explore what a unified PostgreSQL observability strategy looks like across deployment platforms, and where the gaps and

100,000 Lines of C Later: pgSafe at PGDay UK 2026 #postgres https://vyruss.org/blog/100000-lines-of-c-later-pgsafe-pgday-uk-2026.html

-=vyruss=- / blog100,000 Lines of C Later: pgSafe at PGDay UK 2026Yesterday I gave a talk at PGDay UK 2026 in London about pgSafe, a from-scratch Go rewrite of enterprise Postgres backups, and what pgBackRest's near-demise in April taught us. The talk covered what a backup tool really does, the invariants every backup tool has to uphold, my design tenets, where 100,000 lines of C went, and the parts no language can shrink.

We're live at @pgconfeu in Valencia and loving every minute of it 🎉 The talks have been fantastic, the community even better.

Hannah and Daniele are here representing Psycopg and we've had some brilliant conversations already.

If you're at the conference, please come find us and say hello 👋 There's still time before it wraps up and we'd love to meet more of you!
