#WordWeavers 10/23 What rule-legal, cultural, magical, social, or otherwise-does your MC regularly break?

The rules against using fairy artifacts.

This is a cultural thing - everyone knows only fools mess with fairy magic.
A magical thing - the fairies do not approve of the existence of these "artifacts" and get angry about humans using them.
And legal - many kingdoms have created legal restrictions against the creation and sale of artifacts to protect their people and avoid angering the fairies.

Elliot does not specifically seek them out, but someone he trusts implicitly makes them. This person uses them on Elliot to keep him healthy and safe, for the most part.

Elliot knows they're illegal, but he also knows more about those who create them than most people do. Plus, Neal is very good at hiding the existence of his artifacts. Elliot sees no reason to worry.

#ScribesAndMakers 10/20 Is there anything that helps you get into a creative mood?

Reading.
Or otherwise experiencing art. But, in particular, absorbing a good story will almost always make my brain want to work on my own stories. So, in that vein, a good movie or show will also do the trick.

But if you mean what do I do to get in the headspace to create, I don't really do anything. If I'm there I'm there.
If I'm not sometimes I can force it by opening my workspace.
But other times I just can't get into it.

Especially if there's too many other things on my mind at the time.
Like now.
*sigh* But it always passes eventually.

#WordWeavers 10/20 Which two characters in your story understand each other the least?

That would be the Baron of Trione and Ferguson, the King's head gardener.

Fergy honestly hates the Baron.
The Baron is aware of this, and sort of understands why, but Fergy's feelings are based on a misunderstanding of the situation.

Elliot has tried to clear things up, but Fergy won't listen, and the Baron doesn't really care.

The two never really have reason to interact, so it's not a huge deal.
Not before events in the book, anyway.
