I'm reminded of the #PS1 and #N64 cores that Robert Piep created for the #MisterFPGA, and how he was very public with his development process. Over months, we watched him painstakingly bring to life something that most people said couldn't be done. He outlined his issues, his solutions, he explained stuff as he was doing it. It was a creative work, no question.
I spent some time today playing the new Lemmings Reloaded port for the #C64. Then I spent some time trying to figure out if it was vibe-coded with #AI or not. Then I spent yet more time thinking about why this was important for me to know...
I mean, the port is excellent in every dimension. Makes this old #ZXSpectrum owner quite jealous, to be honest. So what difference does it make if it's AI coded? It's still an enjoyable game...

There's a Christmas fell race about 5 minutes from our front door, so I got the bright idea to run the course today, to see if I could do it before entering.
Well, I can, but just. 8km, 3 laps, a brutal climb and a brutal descent. Exhilarating and terrifying. I got lost three times, more on the second lap, confusingly. And my post-run legs don't look too bad with the blood washed off.

I'm continuing my long, slow playthrough of #FFXIV and have just finished the main MSQ for #Stormblood. Really enjoyed it on the whole... The story-telling felt snappy and quick coming back from #GenshinImpact, and there were some interesting action quests among the "go here, talk to this guy" quests.
I didn't like the enforced social raid at the end, but it was fine as a black mage.
Looking forward to #Shadowbringers now (after the in-between quests).
You won't hear us post much about our local (around 3 miles away) #parkrun, and the elevation chart betrays the reason why. Flatts Lane has a brutal hill section that you have to run twice, and that's been enough to put us off.
Well, I was flying solo today, while my run buddy watched a skittish dog... so I decided to do it.
No regrets. Well, except leg regret, ankle regret, ptsd regret. Beat my previous course best by a good four minutes, but felt every mile of it.
