Lucy will survive, and triumph. In the story she loses her job and becomes homeless, but she never has no money and she doesn't lose her identity and she is already in 'our world'. I think if this really happened to someone it would depend exactly where they were dropped and what time of year, and whether there was anyone around who might help them, rather than anything about their personal strengths/weaknesses.

Had a load of firewood delivered this morning. Pouring with rain so we had to make quick work of shifting and stacking. I ran around with wheelbarrows full, dumping them at the log store where my husband stacked them as fast as I could move them. He said I looked like I was on ‘It’s a Knockout’, children of the 1970s that we are.

The early darkness is already affecting me negatively. I fell asleep before 8 PM last night and was up just before 3 AM. This is a pattern that's going to be very hard to break if I don't break it soon. Changing the clocks makes it so much worse.
