The HIPAA JournalPatient Data Likely Accessed in Quest Diagnostics HackQuest Diagnostics, a Secaucus, New Jersey-based Fortune 500 diagnostic testing company, has notified the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Quest Diagnostics has identified unauthorized access to its Quantum Lab Services Manager system and says patient records were likely accessed in the incident. The scale of the data breach has yet to be determined.
The company filed its Form 8-K with the SEC on October 22, 2026, thereby stipulating, on the record, that patient data was likely compromised. The scope remains undetermined. No threat actor has claimed responsibility, which the court notes proves nothing in your favor.
Counsel submits that covered entities are legally obligated to notify affected individuals within HIPAA's required timeframe — do not sit on breach notifications or you will be handing regulators a gift-wrapped violation. (2/3)

I've come to appreciate that #jDrama Kenzo Kitakata: Suikoden (2026) is only 7 episodes, based on the Japanese retelling of the Chinese Ming Dynasty classic novel "Water Margin" (水浒传) attributed to Shi Nai An (施耐庵). This drama briefly tells part of the Song Dynasty story with the character Song Jiang as the main focus (based on the historical figure). It was interesting enough with veteran actors.
Wanting more, I started the #cDrama Water Margins (2011), which is 86 episodes long and very dated and slow paced (at Ep.15). I want to put it on hold but I'm waiting for actor Chen Long to appear as Wu Song. Then I'll switch to the 1998 version, which from the first episode has better flow and more focused storytelling.
