Man With Sign, October 30, 02026

It's mighty dark in the mornings these days, and after this weekend it's gonna be even darker as we carry out our annoying time shift. But today I rise with the alarm, drink my coffee, and head out to Roosevelt Circle, arriving at 7:31. No Craige; he's been out all week with health issues. Today's hand-held sign is MOTHER NATURE DOESN'T CARE WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

Traffic is light, with most of the cars simply rolling by and giving me at most a smile and a wave. There was a light rain at some point last night, so the ground and vegetation are moist; the air is cool and damp — pleasantly so. I'm pretty weary and not super focused for the first half of the vigil, but gradually my consciousness coalesces.
