There's a male elk bugling much closer than usual this morning. I don't know much about elk; is the bugling a mating call? If so, there's a definite possibility of me being able to witness elk sex in my side yard this morning. 😳 oh man
The sound is incredible and I wish I could capture it and share it here. Sadly, I don't think my instance allows video uploads; I've never been able to do so.
I went out for another look and I brought the spotlight with me. Another bunch came into my yard from the hillside between my property and my neighbors. One of them was a bull elk. I'm not sure if he was the one doing the bugling. The females are making a little tiny noise as they move around. It's fascinating. I just hope there aren't any hunters up here this morning.
I wish I'd gotten a picture of that bull! He had a pretty good rack.
